Mary + Patricia | Wedding at the Clock Tower Denver, CO
Mary reached out after I shot a friend of her’s wedding and man I am glad she did. I met her and Patricia at a local coffee shop and learned about how Mary designed her own dress and Patricia’s suit. They had big families and they were going to cram as many people as possible into the Clock Tower. At first - if someone inquires about an urban wedding - I want to make sure we are a good fit. My expertise is outdoor, adventure mountain weddings. I have done the indoor, warehouse or church weddings and they are great. I just prefer to be in nature. But then I realized - what matters more than location. Is the couple. This was first same sex wedding as the lead photographer and I was honored to play a part in celebrating the shit out of these two. It wasn’t about the location (and the Clock Tower is fucking awesome). It was about seeing these two getting to say their vows.
The photo above could possibly be one of my favorite photos of all time. We had a SHORT (like 7 minute walk) from the hotel to the Clock Tower and Mary was shaking she was so excited. She had just written her vows (or copied them down) and her sister got out a cigarette for them.
The Clock tower was tiny. And I don’t even know if we were in fire code. Ha. Thankfully I had my wide angle.
The portion of the night - you know where I take the couple out for a few photos - even if its just 30 minutes! It’s my favorite part of the day. Mary and Patricia were excited to just be with their friends and family - so this is our 20 minute adventure around the Clock Tower and I am so thankful they trusted me to take them on a quick walk around town. How magical down Denver look here?
