How to Prepare for Your Branding Session: Denver Edition

If you’re a business owner, artist, coach, creative, or anyone trying to show up online in a more intentional way — a branding session is one of the smartest moves you can make. It’s not just about a good headshot (though we’ll get that too); it’s about capturing the you behind the brand. Whether you’re launching a new business, rebranding, or just need updated visuals that feel like you, this guide will help you get the most out of your branding session.

What is a Branding Session, Exactly?

A branding session is a personalized photo shoot designed to create high-quality, intentional images that reflect your personality and communicate what your business is all about.

Think:

  • Website and social media photos

  • Content for launches, email newsletters, and online courses

  • Aesthetic headshots that don’t look like they came from a corporate LinkedIn page

  • Lifestyle shots, product shots, workspace vibes — whatever you need to tell your story

I work closely with you to make sure the session feels aligned with your brand, your energy, and the kind of clients you’re hoping to attract.

How to Prep for Your Branding Session

Here’s how to show up ready and confident:

1. Know Your Brand Vibe

Before the shoot, think about how you want people to feel when they see your photos. Do you want to come across as warm and friendly? Bold and edgy? Polished and professional? The more clarity we have on this, the better we can plan wardrobe, backdrop, and overall energy. If you feel stuck, there are branding coaches out there to help go a bit deeper!

2. Outfits Matter — But Don’t Overthink It

Plan 2–3 outfits that reflect your style. Think of them as your “brand uniform.” You are welcome to bring more to the shoot and I can help you decide as well. Feel free to bring different accessories as well!

Tips:

  • Choose pieces that you feel confident in (no itchy waistbands or necklines you’re constantly tugging at).

  • Avoid distracting patterns or logos unless it’s your logo.

  • Bring a mix — a more formal look, something casual, and something creative or fun.

  • Don’t forget accessories, layers, and props (a laptop, coffee mug, sketchbook, product samples — whatever fits your brand).

3. Mood Boards + Inspiration

If you have a Pinterest board or examples you’re drawn to — send them over! You know your brand the most - I am here to help make the vision come alive. I love understanding the vibe you’re going for.

4. Get a Little Extra (Optional but Worth It)

If it’s in your budget, consider professional hair and makeup — not because you need it, but because it can boost confidence and help you feel photo-ready. I can send recs if you need!

Final Thoughts

A good branding session should feel like hanging out with a friend who happens to be taking killer photos of you. My goal is to help you feel seen, confident, and proud of how you show up — both online and IRL. And to create a session that is unique to you and your brand, as you can see from the galleries above, branding sessions are unique to you!

Whether you're a creative entrepreneur, a wellness professional, or someone in the middle of a big rebrand, I'd love to help you create images that feel like you.
