Frequently Asked Question
There are so many questions when figuring out how to hire the perfect photographer for you. I would love to meet up -and ask YOU questions - just to get to know you and your story more. So here are some questions you might already have for me.
Do you travel?
100% yes!! I am based out of Denver but I have traveled to over 30 countries and I am always up for an adventure. If you are thinking of eloping and want some ideas please let me know! Here is the page that talks more about travel fees. I try to keep things as simple as possible. There are NO travel fees for weddings with in the USA. And an extra $1000 for international weddings.
How many photos do I get?
I deliver 50-100 high resolution edited photos for every hour I am shooting. So if you hire me for 8 hours of coverage you will receive 400-800 photos. It is a large spectrum but with every wedding being different - if there are only 25 guest you probably don’t want or need 70 photos of Aunt Cindy dancing :) I usually end up delivering around 700.
When do I get my photos?
Photos are delivered via a website with unlimited downloads 7-8 weeks after the wedding. I also send a pretty big sneak peak of some favorites the week after the wedding. This will hold you over and give you some options if you want to send out “thank yous” or post on Instagram.
Is there a deposit?
Upon booking and signing of the contract, a 50% non-refundable retainer fee is due to confirm the wedding date. The retainer fee goes toward the entire wedding balance. The remaining balance is due 21 days before the wedding. In the event of the Clients cancelling the wedding for whatever reason the booking fee is non-refundable. If you decide to move forward with me as your photographer - then at the time of electronically signing the contract a non-refundable retainer fee of 50% is due to reserve your date. If the wedding date is moved and I am available the retainer will be applied to the new date.
Do you help with the timeline?
Yes please!! The first think I do when considering a timeline and how many hours you might need is look up the exact time the sun is supposed to set that day. If it’s November it could be 4:30pm if its August it could be 8:30pm - this will help us decided with to do the couples portion of the day. And take into consideration a first look. Family photos usually take around 25-30 minutes. Bridal party about 20 minutes. And I recommend allowing a total of on one hour for couples photos. This could be a 30 min first look and then 30 minutes at “golden hour.”
Do you have insurance?
Yes! And if your venue needs to see it just let me know and I will send them over a Certificate of Insurance. I am also a registered LLC.
How many weddings do you shoot per year?
I like to stay between 18-20 weddings per year. I have realized in the past how important it is to avoid burnout and I want to give my best and focus on my couples and the weddings I get the each year.
What kind of equipment do you use and do you have back up equipment?
When I started out I knew a couple photographers that inspired me and I knew they shot Nikon so I went out and bought the best Nikon camera I could. I have loved shooting Nikon ever sense. I have a Nikon D700 body, D750 body, Sigma 50mm 1.4, Nikon 50mm 1.4 (back up), Nikon 70-200mm 2.8, Nikon 24mm 1.4 and two flashes. Most weddings I am also shooting with a second photographer who has back up cameras. SO many cameras.
