IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
When two souls meet and want to start a family together - it is even more kismet when they both want to passionately adopt. The excitement of starting a family with the person you love - sounds dreamy. And often times adoption is put in this light - as this beautiful story. But the truth is - adoption is full of heartache and trauma. There are so many complexities around the birth mother and adoptee. And it’s taken a lot for Taylor and I to do our due diligence making sure we pick an agency that is ethical. It can be a long and draining process. Durning this process you meet people along the way that hopefully help create the best upbringing this child can have.
WHAT IS “THE LOVE CLUB”?
The Love Club is the child who doesn’t have a say in what is about to happened to their family/life. The love club is the agency advocating for the birth parent’s rights and options. The love club is the grandparent and aunt of the child. The adoptive parents doing the work to make sure this is the best path for everyone involved. The love club is the chosen family this child will make along the way. The therapist they will see when they are 33. The love club is the siblings they have and the siblings they may gain later on. The love club is the supportive friends and family of the adoptive family.
THE BIG THREE PACKAGE!
Going through adoption ourselves, we have learned how important the photos are for your profile book (the book birth parents look through when deciding which family to pick) and telling your child their story. Photos are sometimes all you have. As professionally photographers we decided to start offering a special deal for these couples/families in the process of adopting. And that’s how “The Love Club” got started.
The package includes:
First session - Lifestyle! Includes multiple outfits and locations (within 20 min) of each other. This session is a lifestyle session of you being you for your family book! These are the photos that the birth mom will see and eventually your child (as you tell them their story) - we can go on your favorite hike with your dog or make pancakes at home! It’s a lifestyle (more candid/documentary) shoot with a couple “traditional photos.”
Second session - Newborn! Depending on our availability this could be you taking your little one home from the hospital or 1-2 weeks after or whenever you first get to meet your little one. It could also include the birth parents. Those first weeks when you are forming that bond are so important. Capturing this season of your time together is an honor. And important for documenting for your baby book.
Third Session - 6 months or one year! You choose! We have 10 years of experience capturing families and now that we are in the adoptive process ourselves - there is something even more important about photos. It’s a part of your child’s story. Feel free to invite people from your “love club” to this session if you would like.
All sessions are priced at $850 individually - but we are doing all three for $2000 (save $550!). We created this part of our business from our adoption training when the other attendees said they had never had photos of them together (besides wedding photos if they were married) and needed some lifestyle photos of them and their family. PLUS - damn these adoption expenses are much more than initially thought and all of the proceeds will go directly towards our own adoption. We can’t wait to be a part of the community that this child will have.
Our goal is to book 25 all inclusive packages! Within the next 12 -18 months! All sessions will be shot by either Kate or Taylor within 45 minutes of Denver (there is a travel fee if you live outside of that). You will receive 50-75 high res edited photos delivered via a website within two to three weeks of the session.
Not adopting but still want to take advantage of the deal? We can do maternity (or couples shoot), newborn and one year.
