Lauryn + Nik

Lauryn and Nik reached out in early 2020. They were planning for a December of 2020 wedding in Sayulita and we couldn’t be more excited. Of course that was back when things were normal. As COVID became more serious Lauryn and Nik had to make the decision to postpone and rescheduled for the same weekend one year later. In the mean time, Lauryn and I met for a drink and talked all things wedding. Even though things are not even close to normal - it was well worth the wait.

Lauryn and Nik wanted to do a session the day before. Isn’t her dress perfect? It is from Show Me Your MuMu - during the shoot we made a quick stop at the bar to grab a drink of course. The Amor hotel had the traditional flags hanging up outside the pool area.

Lauryn and Nik both got ready at the hotel and had their first look in what the hotel called the “kissing garden.” It couldn’t have been more perfect - it was a little jungle oasis and a perfect spot for them to say their vows privately. After the first look we got the family photos and wedding party photos out of the way and then everyone headed to the ceremony site via golf carts (the Sayulita way).

As guest arrived at the ceremony on the beach they grabbed a corona - to enjoy during the ceremony and have a little cheers at the end!

Complete with a mariachi band, tequila shots, churros and a cigar bar - this was the perfect Mexico wedding. And Sayulita is a small, surf town ideal for guest to experience Mexico without needing to know fluent Spanish. Definitely hoping for another wedding or trip here again. Thanks Nik and Lauryn for trusting us to be your photographers and play a little part in your special day!
