A Wedding, Ten Years in the Making

A decade ago, Leigh was visiting some family in Breckenridge, Colorado. After a day of skiing, she met Tim through mutual friends before both consequently returned to Texas. Over the course of eight years, the two became best friends. After Tim finally told Leigh he "liked her," like quickly turned to love for the two. Tim proposed on Leigh’s birthday last year.

Bridals in Breckenridge

A month before their wedding, Leigh and her parents came to Breckenridge for her hair and makeup trial. Leigh booked a bridal session with me and I was elated. I don't often have the opportunity to photograph bridal sessions, and this particular day ended up being a full on blizzard. The snow made for portraits right out of a winter wonderland. Thankfully, I had an assistant and Leigh's parents were there to help! It was chilly but worth it!

Wedding in Breckenridge

Leigh and Tim were wed at The Lodge at Breckenridge, which boasts breathtaking views at an elevation of 10,000 feet. Before the big day, the couple educated their guests on preparations for for high elevations and altitude sickness - it's no joke!

On her wedding day, Leigh wore a two piece wedding dress combination and her bridesmaids wore deep velvet dresses with fur shawls.

First Look

With the mountains of Colorado as their backdrop, Leigh met Tim for their fist look. Tim's smile when he turned to see Leigh, his Bride-to-be, for the first time really says it all! The two shared a few private moments as they read letters they wrote for one another.

Reception

The newlyweds' personal touches could be found throughout their reception at The Lodge. In lie of a traditional guestbook, guests of Leigh and Tim signed a pair of old skis. Hot cocoa spoons, miniature jars of habanero salt, and plentiful blankets ensured their guests warmth while having a blast with the Bride and Groom on their big day. The two ended their evening with a bubble send off from their family and friends.
