Emily + Jeff | Elopement in Vail, CO

About the Couple

From the very beginning I always ask the couple to tell me a little about themselves. Emily and Jeff are both east coasters who relocated to Denver. They met on the mountain through a mutual friend while in Breckenridge, Colorado. Jeff joked that he would move to Colorado only to find a girl from Jersey (that's Emily)! They have a deep love and appreciation for one another. They are a silly/weird couple and love to adventure together throughout Colorado and beyond!

Emily and Jeff found the perfect cabin/hut to elope at just outside of Vail, Colorado. (In the winter you can snowshoe up to these huts!). I got there early to scout and together the three of us found the perfect spot that they would share their vows. A spot where Jeff could play the guitar and serenade his bride down the “isle” of trees. It was one of the most magical moments for ALL OF US!

And although they didn’t have a traditional wedding they were not celebrating alone. Before they eloped they had all of their family and friends write them sweet notes for Emily and Jeff to open on their wedding day. We brought these along for them to stop and open a few while cheering with their favorite beer.

I am so honored that Emily and Jeff trusted me to capture these moments and be a part of this sacred space. Emotions were flowing. There was no show or time frame or officiant you just met. Just these two putting a stake in this day - the day they decided they were going to fight for each other as long as possible. Seeing these two together is an insight into true love.

After we wrapped up photos - Emily and Jeff headed back to the cabin to enjoy a bottle of wine, their first dance in the living room and a PRIVATE CHEF to cook them a delicious meal. They took breaks to read more notes from their friends and family. Recipes, jokes and hopes for them as a couple.
