Chelsea & Warren’s Intimate Wedding at the Poor Farm in Salida, CO

Love stories that span over a decade are undeniably special, and Chelsea and Warren’s journey is a perfect example. Their love began over ten years ago at an art school in New York City, a serendipitous meeting of two souls trying to find their way in life. Little did they know, they would end up figuring it out together.

Their relationship was tested by five years of long distance, but they never wavered. As soon as Chelsea graduated, the couple made the big move to Colorado, a place where their love could finally flourish without the miles between them. They’ve been inseparable ever since.

Fast forward to last fall, and Warren’s proposal in Salida set the stage for the next chapter of their love story. When it came to wedding planning, Chelsea and Warren faced the classic dilemma: elope or host a full wedding celebration? In the end, they found a happy middle ground, choosing to rent a beautiful home in Salida for an intimate wedding with just their immediate family. It was the perfect choice, allowing them to focus on the love they’ve built together while surrounded by those who matter most.

The Venue: The Poor Farm in Salida, CO

Chelsea and Warren’s wedding took place at the Poor Farm, a historic home nestled along the Arkansas River. The scenic beauty of the venue was undeniable. With rustic charm and tranquil river views, it served as the perfect canvas for the couple’s artistically inspired celebration. The house’s natural character blended seamlessly with Chelsea and Warren’s creative touches.

A Wedding That Reflected Their Artistic Souls

As artists, Chelsea and Warren’s creativity was infused into every detail of their wedding. The couple’s fingerprints were all over the design—from the handmade invitations that set the tone for the event to the one-of-a-kind flower arrangements that adorned the venue. Each element of the day felt personal, thoughtful, and true to their shared artistic vision.

The ceremony was held outdoors, with the Arkansas River flowing gently behind them. The natural sound of the water added a peaceful ambiance to the moment as Chelsea walked down the aisle in a simple yet stunning white dress. Warren, looking sharp in his suit, couldn't keep his eyes off of her. Their love for one another was on full display as they exchanged heartfelt, personal vows, bringing tears to the eyes of their family members.

Couples Photos for the Win

As everyone headed inside for cocktails, we explored and took some of my favorite couples photos.

A Dinner to Remember

Following the ceremony, the couple’s families gathered for an intimate dinner. Rather than opting for a traditional caterer, Chelsea and Warren decided to hire a private chef from Denver, a choice that elevated the entire dining experience. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, adding yet another layer of artistry to their wedding day.

As dinner was served, heartfelt speeches were shared by family members, each one filled with love, pride, and admiration for the couple. Laughter echoed through the house as stories from the past were shared and new memories were made.

An Evening of Connection and Joy

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Chelsea, Warren, and their loved ones gathered for dessert and conversation. With no rigid timeline or distractions, the evening felt like a warm family gathering—intimate, joyful, and full of genuine connection. They soaked in every moment, knowing that this day was truly about love, family, and the journey they had traveled to get to this point.

Chelsea and Warren’s wedding wasn’t just about the beauty of the setting or the curated details (though both were breathtaking). It was about love—unshakable, enduring love—that had been built over the course of a decade. Their celebration was a reflection of who they are as individuals and as a couple: thoughtful, creative, and deeply connected.

Their story is a reminder that love isn’t just about grand gestures or lavish celebrations. Sometimes, it’s about a quiet house on a river, hand-picked flowers, and the people who’ve been there for you through it all. Chelsea and Warren’s wedding was small in size but enormous in love, and it’s a day that will be remembered forever by everyone who was lucky enough to witness it.
