You guys! I love living in Denver. Granted I’m a little bias since my family is here and I am from here but my experience with the wedding industry in Denver has definitely been more COMMUNITY OVER COMPETITION. In a state where the wedding “season” is only about 6 months I have realized how important it is to connect with other wedding photographers.

We all could use other photographers friends to:

  • call for advice or ask questions on contracts or locations

  • in need for a second shooter!

  • refer to couples when you are already booked, in a different price range or just not a good fit

  • just overall relate to as a friend

  • plan a styled shoot together!

The best form of advertisement is word of mouth. And I think you can really only vouch for someone you have ACTUALLY met in person. So over the last couple years I have thought about starting this meet up. And it is finally happening.

Whiskey + Weddings is a time for local wedding photographers to meet up at a local casual bar and talk about business things like - when do you raise your prices? How much do you charge for travel? Do you outsource your editing and if so who do you use? Do you pay your taxes quarterly? Do you have an accountant you like? Have you been to a workshop? When should you update your camera? What lens do you use the most? How many hours of coverage do you do for an elopement? THERE ARE SO MANY QUESTIONS!

We all have different experiences and can learn from each other!

So let’s bridge the gap between social media and REAL LIFE! Ha. And force ourselves to get out of the house (as I am writing this in sweat pants - you all know working from home can be a struggle). Sign up below and see you at the next meet up!
